Privacy

This page explains what the Chemisode Video Hub collects, why it is used, where it is stored and how a user can request access, correction or removal.

At a glance

Most public videos and learning pages can be used without signing in. Signing in is optional for personal progress synchronisation and is required for class-linked progress and teacher analytics.

Guest useQuiz answers and scores exist only while the page is open. Guest results are not retained or transferred into an account.

Information collected and why

Browser preferences and signed-in recovery data Theme, filters, open quiz sections and series completion. Information kept in the browser

Guest quiz answers, scores and mistake history are held only in temporary page memory. They are removed when the page is refreshed or closed and are never transferred into a signed-in account. Search text is processed in the browser to filter the catalogue and is not saved as a Chemisode account record.

Interface preferences such as theme and filters may remain in browser storage. While a user is signed in, a temporary account-specific recovery copy of learning progress may be stored until it is synchronised. This recovery copy is removed after successful sign-out. Supabase authentication also keeps the signed-in session in browser storage so the user can remain signed in. Chemisode Video Hub does not store the user's password in its own page files.

Where information is stored

The user's browser: interface preferences and, only while signed in, temporary account-specific recovery data awaiting synchronisation. Guest learning results are not retained.
Chemisode's Supabase project: authentication, profiles, organisation and class relationships, class-linked or personal quiz progress, and question-mastery records.
Cloudflare: the public website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages and related security infrastructure.
YouTube: videos are embedded from YouTube. YouTube may process information when an embedded video is loaded or the user opens YouTube.
Email service: support messages are stored by the sender's and recipient's email providers.

Chemisode uses external providers to operate the site. Their systems may process information in locations determined by those providers.

Who can access information

The signed-in user can view their own account and learning progress.
Teachers and organisation administrators can view class-linked learning records only for classes they are authorised to manage.
Chemisode site administrators may access records when required for support, security and platform operation.
Service providers such as Supabase, Cloudflare, YouTube and email providers process information needed to provide their services.

Chemisode does not sell personal information and the Video Hub does not use student quiz data for advertising.

Access, correction and removal

Local browser data: successful sign-out removes the signed-in learning recovery copy from that device. Browser settings can also be used to clear preferences and the Supabase session for video.chemisode.com. Clearing browser data does not remove records already synchronised to Supabase.
Account or cloud learning data: email support@chemisode.com from the account email address. Include the display name, organisation or class if relevant, and whether the request is for access, correction or deletion.
Class-linked records: Chemisode may need to confirm the request with the user's school or organisation and verify identity before changing or deleting records.
Outcome: Chemisode will explain what was changed or removed, or why some information must be retained for security, legal, backup or record-integrity purposes.

Accounts, passwords, organisations and class enrolments continue to be managed through Chemisode Organic.

Students and young people

The Video Hub is designed for secondary education. Chemisode aims to collect only the account and learning information needed to provide progress tools and authorised teacher analytics. Students should use class-linked accounts according to their school's instructions.

Retention

Guest quiz results are not retained by Chemisode. Signed-in learning records remain in the Chemisode account system until they are updated or removed through the account/privacy-request process, subject to any limited retention needed for security, backups, legal obligations or record integrity. Browser preferences remain on the device until they are cleared, and infrastructure/support records are retained according to operational needs and the settings of the relevant service provider.

Privacy concerns and complaints

Send a privacy concern to support@chemisode.com and identify the Chemisode account or service involved without including unnecessary sensitive information. Chemisode will review the concern, may request information needed to verify identity or understand the issue, and will respond with the outcome or next steps. If a privacy concern is not resolved, information about making a privacy complaint is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Security and changes to this page

Chemisode uses authentication, class permission checks, restricted database access and secure hosting controls to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

This page may be updated when features, providers or data practices change. The updated date and site version will be shown on the page.
